Startimes saga: ‘You can’t sit there and dictate to us’ – Government to GIBA
Hopes of Ghana Independent Broadcasters
Association to have their concerns regarding the Government’s deal with
Chinese owned StarTimes has been dashed after sector Minister, Ursula
Owusu-Ekuful downplayed their inputs saying GIBA has no right to dictate
to the government what to do.
Describing their concerns as alarmist, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful emphasised her unwillingness to engage GIBA articulating that the government was elected with a mandate and that doesn’t include kowtowing to the demands of GIBA.
In her response to submissions from a rep of GIBA and Sam George, NDC MP for Ningo-Prampram and member of Parliament’s Communications Committee the Communications Minister suggested she was confused about the position espoused by them.

CEO of Kantanka crying for local support drives Mercedes Benz - Report
Many times we love to make noises about ‘support your own’ but when it
comes down to it, more often than not it turns out to be all talk and no
action.
What we’re hearing about the CEO of the Kantanka Group of Companies seems to be in line with this although if it’s true it completely delegitimizes any of the arguments he’s making for help for his company.
Kwadwo Safo Jnr has been in the news recently ranting and raving against the government for squeezing local industries including his own whilst giving incentives to foreign companies.
His anger was after news came out that VW was coming to set up a plant in Ghana with

Many stranded on Eastern Corridor road due to floods
It had been raining in the Northern Region throughout the working week and only stopped Friday morning.
The rainfall has caused the flooding of an uncompleted bridge in a community called Lipuhi, rendering the road non-motorable.
The rain literally cut off people traveling from the northern part of the country to the southern part and vice versa at Lipuhi.
The travelers, most of whom are women, said their hopes of crossing to their destinations were dashed.
Vehicles of all sizes and shapes, pulled over at both ends of the flooded area as none wanted to risk driving through the water.
The few daring ones were directed by residents who know the nooks and

Kenichi abandoned Aduana midway through Raja defeat
Aduana Stars coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi abandoned his team midway through
their 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Raja Casablanca on Wednesday.
The American-Japanese trainer refused to head into the dressing room at halftime to give the team talk.
He rather went into the stands where he watched the remainder of the game.
FootballmadeinGhana.com sources suggest that Kenichi felt some of the players were sabotaging him hence his decision to bolt from his post midway through the game.
The former Hearts of Oak trainer’s short-term stint with the Fire club is coming to a disappointing end as his side appeared very disorganized in their thrashing by Moroccan club in the CAF Confederation Cup game.
